The telepresence robot to shortlist when a video call isn't enough and someone needs to move around the office.
Buyer's guide
Office robots do three jobs: clean floors after hours, carry things between rooms and floors, or put a remote person in the room. Each one pays off only when the job repeats every day and the building works for it.

| Type | What it does | Who it's for | Worth it if | Skip it if |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cleaning robot | Vacuums or scrubs open floor on a schedule, usually after hours. | Offices with large open hard floors and a cleaning crew for edges and desks. | A crew spends hours every week on the same open floor. | The space is small, mostly carpeted cubicles, or the furniture moves often. |
| Delivery or transport robot (AMR or AGV) | Carries mail, supplies or parts along mapped routes. | Multi-floor offices, labs, clinics and offices joined to a warehouse. | Staff push the same cart along the same route many times a day. | Routes change daily, or doors and elevators can't be opened by the robot. |
| Telepresence robot | A screen on wheels that a remote person drives around the office. | Hybrid teams and managers who need to walk a site from somewhere else. | A remote person needs to move around the floor, not just join a meeting. | A video call already covers it. Most meetings don't need wheels. |
Our verdict: start with the job, not the robot. Count how many hours a week a person spends on that one repeated task. If it's a few hours, a robot rarely pays off. If it's a full shift, get a quote.
The commercial makers below hold Department of War Conditional Approvals announced by the FCC, so their new models can still get FCC authorization. The notices name platforms and product classes, not finished office products. Ask the seller which platform a given robot is built on. We haven't checked any telepresence robot's FCC record yet, so none is listed.
