WYBOT pool robots: which model to buy, and what goes wrong

Updated

Our verdict

WYBOT is the budget cordless brand: the C2 Vision, with a camera that hunts for dirt, is $629.99 on wybotpool.com, seen Oct 29, 2026, and EFTM found that mode works. The trade-offs are a 24-month warranty at most, single-area modes that run until the battery is flat, and owner reports of slow warranty replies. Buy the C2 Vision for a simple, flat-bottom pool on a budget; skip WYBOT for rounded fiberglass pools or if support response matters to you.

Short answer: WYBOT sells cheap cordless pool robots that do the basics well, with a 24-month warranty at most. Buy the C2 Vision at $629.99 for a simple pool on a budget. Prices are from wybotpool.com, seen Oct 29, 2026.

Which WYBOT pool robot should I buy?

The C2 Vision. It costs $130 more than the plain C2 and adds a front camera and a Dirt-Hunting mode, which EFTM found "really works": it went straight to a handful of dirt dropped in a clean pool. Read our full WYBOT C2 Vision review for owner reports, runtimes and parts costs.

The S2 Solar Vision adds a solar charging dock at $1,599.99, so the robot stays in the pool and charges itself. Reviewers found the dock slow to charge and owners report missed docking, and at that price an Aiper or Beatbot with a longer warranty is a better buy for most pools. Our WYBOT S2 Solar Vision review covers who it suits, including why a screened Florida lanai usually means plugging the dock in.

For floating leaves, the F1 solar skimmer ($299.98) works the surface while a floor robot handles the bottom. See our solar pool skimmers guide.

What does the WYBOT warranty cover?

WYBOT's refund and warranty policy says the warranty "covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal, intended use," including "Battery defects (within battery warranty period)". The term is 12 months for the F1, A1, B1 and Hyson, and 24 months for the C1, C2, C2 Vision, S2 family, S3, M1 and M2.

The exclusions: wear parts such as brushes, wheels and filters; water damage from opening the unit or leaving ports unsealed; third-party repairs; and damage from a chemical imbalance. That last one matters in a salt pool, so keep a log of your water tests.

What problems do WYBOT owners report?

  • Runs until the battery is flat. EFTM found that "Wall", "Water Line" and all three Floor modes "would perform the clean but would then just keep going until the battery was depleted," on both its original and its replacement unit (EFTM).
  • Rounded fiberglass pools. A C2 Vision owner said it was "unable to clean the corners," lost its grip at the waterline after a second, and "doesn't even try to climb the steps" (r/pools).
  • Early failure and support. A C2 owner said the robot "died in 8 months" and, on the warranty, "Good luck getting hold of anybody" (r/swimmingpools). EFTM's experience was better: WYBOT asked for videos over the holidays and replaced the unit.
  • App quirks. EFTM had to re-create an account made on the website inside the app and enter its Wi-Fi name by hand.
  • Solar dock reports. S2 Solar Vision owners describe slow solar charging, missed docking and an app that loses the dock; details in our S2 Solar Vision review.
  • The 2026 recall. In April 2026 the CPSC announced a recall of about 5,000 older WYBOT robots, specific serial ranges of the Osprey 700 Max and S1, because their batteries can overheat. WYBOT's remedy is a free C2. The C2, C2 Vision and S2 family aren't named; WYBOT's recall notice has the serial check.

Is a WYBOT good for a Florida pool?

For a screened lanai pool with sand and pollen, the C2 Vision is a sensible budget robot. If your Florida pool is fiberglass, the slipping report above came from a rounded fiberglass pool, so check WYBOT's float-block advice before you buy. Under oaks, pair a floor robot with the F1 skimmer for floating leaves. Price either against weekly service with our robot vs pool service calculator.

Can I buy WYBOT robots in the US?

Yes. WYBOT sells direct on wybotpool.com.

US availability side note: models the FCC authorized before its July 2026 robot rule can still be sold here. Read the FCC robot rule explained or use the US availability check.

Is WYBOT a good pool robot brand?

Our verdict: a good budget brand with real limits. The C2 Vision's camera mode is the best feature at its price. The 24-month cap, the run-to-empty modes and mixed support reports keep WYBOT behind Aiper and Beatbot. Buy it if price comes first and your pool has a simple shape. See how long pool robots last and Aiper vs Beatbot if you can spend more.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the WYBOT warranty?

WYBOT's policy lists 12 months for the F1, A1, B1 and Hyson, and 24 months for the C1, C2, C2 Vision, S2 family, S3, M1 and M2.

What does the WYBOT warranty not cover?

Wear parts such as brushes, wheels and filters, water damage from opening the unit or leaving ports unsealed, third-party repairs, and damage from chemical imbalance.

Why does my WYBOT run until the battery dies?

EFTM found every C2 Vision mode, including the 1-hour floor mode, ran until the low-battery warning, on both its first and replacement units. Use the Cycle Timer in the app to cap a run.

Is WYBOT good for fiberglass pools?

Mixed. One C2 Vision owner with a rounded fiberglass pool said it couldn't clean the corners and slipped off the waterline after a second. EFTM's pebble pool was fine. WYBOT includes float blocks for slippery surfaces.

Is WYBOT cheaper than Aiper?

At the low end, yes. On Oct 29, 2026 the WYBOT C2 Vision was $629.99 and the Aiper Scuba S1 (2026) was $529.99, while the Aiper Scuba V3 was $849.99. Aiper's X1 Pro Max offers 36 months of coverage; WYBOT tops out at 24.
